Linda Sledge Johnson, 71, of Fairmount GA embarked on her journey into the afterlife on Sunday, September 16th, 2018. Born May 29,1947, in Byron, GA to the late Wilson Harris Sledge Sr. & Willie Mae Sledge Jenkins. She is survived by her sons William Walter Johnson, Mark Wilson Johnson, Billy Johnson & Matthew Sledge Johnson & her 7 beautiful grandchildren.
Linda was a florist, business owner & an integral part of her community for nearly 40 years. She served as the current police commissioner of Fairmount, served numerous times as a city council member. She organized and coordinated countless events in the Fairmount community over the course of the nearly 40 years she lived there.
There will be a memorial celebration of her life Saturday, September 22nd at Tate Park in Fairmount, GA from 10 am until the afternoon. Linda didn't want flowers sent for her, she didn't like the fact that that was cut and then dead. She wanted live plants/flowers. There will be a memorial garden constructed in Tate Park to honor her, all plants will be planted in the garden so they can continue to grow forever in her memory. You can also donate to her memorial garden fund by visiting www.gf.me/u/mczk9s
All funds raised by this campaign will be used to construct the garden.
We will always love you, Mom.
