Joe Don Butler Obituary

Mr. Joe Don Butler, age 81, of Chatsworth, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018. Mr. Butler attended the Murray State College in Oklahoma then went into the United States Army for 3 years. He returned to Georgia where he graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture. Mr. Butler owned Carpeton Mills for 22 years and was a cattle farmer.

Preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Butler and Thelma Parks, brother James Butler, half-brothers Bobby Harrison, Travis Parks and McKay Parks and a sister Bennie Butler.

He is survived by His wife Alva Butler of Chatsworth, several nieces, and nephews also survive.

The Family will be receiving friends from 5 pm until 9 pm Friday and Funeral Services will be Saturday at 2 pm in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Dan Sluder officiating. Interment will follow in the Chatsworth Heights Cemetery with Chatsworth American Legion Post 167 in charge of Military Honors.
