James Leon Ridley, age 77, of Chatsworth passed away Wednesday, March 13th, 2019 at his residence.
James was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was also an avid member of Apple Ridge Woodturners and the Dalton Area Woodturners Guild.
He is preceded in death by parents: Leonard and Minnie Ridley, sister: Dorothy Ridley and grandson: Ty Leonard Ridley.
James is survived by his wife of 58 years: Linda, children: Karen and David Trammell of Rocky Face, Connie and Billy Wilson of Chatsworth, Jamey and Wendy Ridley of Cornersville, TN., and Joe Ridley of Chatsworth, grandchildren: Matthew & Kevin Trammell, Ronnie and Allison Pittman, Garrett & Sara Wilson, Jenna Ridley, Zachary, Summer, and Nicholas Ridley, great-grandchildren: Luke & Brayden Trammell, Conner Pittman and Jayce Ridley, brothers and sisters in law: Herman and Glenda Ridley, Wilburn and Juanita Ridley , sister and brother in law: Brenda and Charles Ridley. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews also survive.
Funeral service for Mr. Ridley will be held Sunday, March 17, 2019, at 3 PM at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev Ed Kilgore and Rev Levoyd Whitten officiating. Interment will be in New Hope-Kilgore Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5 until 9 at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home.
