Mr. Hoyt Douglas Blanchard Sr. age 86, of Dalton went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.

Hoyt was born October 7, 1932, in Copper Hill TN. He was preceded in death by his parents: Wilene and Johnny Standridge, Jack Blanchard, wife: Emma Blanchard, wife: Dorothy Blanchard, son: Doug Blanchard, sister: Sally Earlywine, brother: Jack Blanchard, and granddaughter: Amanda Blanchard.

Hoyt was a man with a strong work ethic. He worked for Whitfield County Road Department for over 30 years retiring in 1995. He was dedicated to his family and unyielding in his efforts to provide for them. He had a great love for his grandchildren. His simple pleasures in life were the mountains, chewing tobacco, and chopping wood.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-laws: Terry and Dianne Blanchard of Chatsworth, Tim and Joanna Warnix, James Blanchard and Luane Bohannon, Scott and Chastity Blanchard all of Dalton, Son: Dwight Blanchard of Dalton, daughters and sons-in-law: Tammy and Doug Amos of Dalton, Tammy and David Wilson of Cohutta, daughter: Mari Poteet of Dalton ,15 grandchildren :Dewey Blanchard,Chad Blanchard,Britani Silvers,April Poteet,Bruce Poteet, Brandy Dunn,Haley Guinn,Christinia Barrett, Christoper Amos,Connor Wilson,Brannon Wilson,Will Blanchard,Mason Blanchard,and Luke Blanchard and 14 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the following Churches to support missions to, New Life Baptist, Mount Rachel Baptist, and Grove Level Baptist in memory of Hoyt Douglas Blanchard Sr.

Services for Mr. Blanchard will be Saturday, August 3, 2019, at 4 PM at New Life Baptist with Pastor Ricky Spence officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1 PM to the funeral hour.
