Edward Frederick (Fred) Criswell

Mr. Edward Frederick (Fred) Criswell, age 76 of Chatsworth passed away Thursday December 14, 2017.

Mr. Criswell was born in Macon, GA and was raised in Orlando, FL. After graduation, Fred joined the United States Air Force where he was an airplane mechanic and  spent time in Madrid, Spain. He pursed a career at Pitney Bowes until 1978 when he went to work as a corporate pilot for a local company here in Chatsworth, GA. He was a member of the local American Legions, Post 167.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Lillian Criswell, and brother Charles F. Criswell.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Elizabeth (Liz) Criswell, stepson, Duane (Michelle) Edgeman of Chatsworth. grandchildren, Lara Beth and Sarah Grace Edgeman, sister, Debra (Mike) Barlow of Seminole FL, brother, John (Nancy) Criswell of Coral Springs, FL, and many nieces and nephews.

The  family will receive friends, Monday, December 18, from 5-9 pm.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December, 19 at 11 AM, at the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be at 2 pm at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors by Chatsworth American Legion Post 167.
