Carolyn Sue Alexander

Carolyn Sue Alexander , age 84, of Dalton and formerly of Ringold and La Jolla, California, passed away on Sunday,  May 28, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga after a brief illness.

Carolyn was born on July 13, 1932 in Ringgold to the late  Charles Hoyt  and Ruth Wilson Alexander.  

She was preceded in death by her brothers: infant Howard Alexander, Charles Vernon Alexander Sr., Robert Henry (Bob) Alexander: half brother, Laverne Gibson Alexander, sisters:  Annie Kate Alexander and Audrey Alexander Keen, half sister: Virginia Alexander Marshall.  Paternal Grandparents: Robert Henry and Ella Nipper Alexander and Maternal Grandparents: D. F. and Ora Buffington Wilson.

Survivors include one brother: Paul Wayne Alexander of Ringgold, and one sister: Christine Alexander Williams of San Diego, CA., nieces and nephews.

Carolyn graduated with honors from Ringgold High School and worked as a medical secretary.  She was retired from Scripp Clinic and Research Foundation in LaJolla, CA.  She was a member of St. Marks's Episcopal Church where she was a volunteer for many years. 

A Memorial sevice will be held on Saturday, July 1st,  at St. Marks Episcopal Church in Dalton at 2:30 pm with Rev. Susan Butler officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:30 pm. The family asks that flowers be omitted and memorials made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church Memorial Garden.
