Peggy (Hankins) Hicks

In Loving Memory of Peggy Elizabeth Hicks 
March 13, 1955 - April 6, 2024

We sorrowfully announce the passing of Peggy Hicks, a remarkable woman whose journey on this earth transitioned to a heavenly sojourn at the age of 69 Peggy entered this world in 1955, to Warrine Hankins and the late Rev. Jack Hankins in the charming city of Summerville Georgia, along with her siblings Larry Hankins (Sharon), Jeff Hankins and Angie Hankins, where she grew into a woman of honor, love, and profound kindness.

Peggy's legacy is carried on through her beloved husband of 51 years, John Thomas Hicks, who stood by her as her partner in every aspect of life, sharing countless memories and moments of unconditional love. She was a Mother like no other to her children, Jackie Chasteen (Jeff), Brandy Hicks, and Reed Hicks(Brandy), instilling in them the values of integrity, compassion, and resilience. Peggy's joy was multiplied with the birth of each of her grandchildren, Lance Chasteen (Alexys) Chase Chasteen (Marjorie), Haley Cornett (Kyle) Jeremy Ridley(Andrea), Hannah Rubin(Griffin), Kacie Canady (James) Destinee and John-John Hicks and Great Grandchildren Hadley, Hayes, Atticus, Zadie, Waylon, Stoeger, Tiziana, Brianna, McKynlee, Averson, Hanson, Jolene, James, who became the sparkle in her eyes and the endless beams of her sun.

To celebrate Peggy's extraordinary life and to honor her memory, services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Free Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald Guffy officiating, The interment will be in the Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Shawn Chapman's Funeral Home on Tuesday, April,9,2023 from 5 pm to 8 pm, the immediate family will be 4 pm to 5 pm.

Peggy Hicks's life was a beacon of love, honor, and joy. As we bid her farewell, let us carry forward the light she has left in our hearts, remembering her not for her departure, but for the incredible journey!
