Mr. Vernon E. Floyd, age 78, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Hamilton Medical Center.
Mr. Floyd was a proud 1957 graduate of Dalton High School and has been a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church for 27 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents:Louis and Abbey Buckner Floyd and adoptive parents Columbus and Addie Mae Hailey, brothers: J. W. Floyd, Johnny Floyd and Glenn Floyd, sisters Margaret Floyd and Betty Floyd.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years: Sue Chance Floyd, children: Shane Floyd and Blake Floyd of Ringgold, Chris & Gina Tarvin of Hardin, KY., Angie & Travis Fields of Dalton, brothers: Jimmy Floyd of Chatsworth, Robert Floyd of Summerville, sisters: Barbara Vaughn and Mary Caldwell both of Dalton. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren , nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Service for Mr. Floyd will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 4 pm at Welcome Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Postell, Rev. Jimmy Floyd, Rev. Travis Martin and Rev.Chris Tarvin officiating. Interment will be in Whitfield Memorial Garden. The Chatsworth American Legion Post 167 will have Military Honors The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 until 8 pm.
