Oma Lee Harris

Mrs. Oma Lee (Baxter) Harris, age 89 of Chatsworth, passed away Thursday August 20, 2015.  

She is preceded in death by her parents: Escol and Newt Baxter, husband: Nelson Harris, brothers: James and W.T.Baxter, sisters: Jennie Mae Brooks and Mildred Bramlett Snyder

She is survived by her sister: Kathryn Carver of Old Fort, TN,  daughter: Trudy (Jerry) Swilling of Chatsworth , son: Gary (Margaret) Harris of Crandall, five grandchildren: Keith Swilling, Karen (Craig)Gibson, Hugh (Andrea) Swilling, Gretchen (Dwayne) Spearman and Chad Harris: twelve great grandchildren: Sasha, Lydia, Tanner Marlin, Taylor Spearman, Kelsey, Brady, Taylor, Payton, Jack Swilling, Zach (Emily), Kaila and Kristen Gibson, one great great grandchild: Liam Marlin and several nieces and nephews.

She lived in the Temple Grove Community of Murray County most of her adult life.  She was a very active member of Sumach Cumberland Presbyterian Church and held many prominent positions.  She was the assistant post master of Crandall for several years.  She traveled all over the world and loved each trip she took.  She saw herself as a follower, but she led in her own quiet way.  She loved her family and life itself .  She will be sorely missed by all. 

 Funeral Services will be Saturday 4 pm at Sumach Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tom Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday 5 till 9 pm.
