Mr Ernest P Newton, age 70, of Chatsworth passed away September 9 at Murray Medical Center. He is preceeded in death by brothers: Eugene Newton and Bill Newton. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Aretta Newton. Children & spousis: Mary & Skip Akers of Boaz, Alabama, Jif & Tommy Gates of Ellijay, Venus & Cheryl Newton of Canton Adrian Newton and Lucretia White both of Chatsworth, Brothers : Herbert Newton of Cherry Log, Bobby Newton of Elijay and Sister Maybelle Hice of Cherry Log. Thirteen ( 13) grandchildren Nine (9) great grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. Funeral Service for Mr. Newton will be Tuesday, September 11 , at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. Monday .
